Over 500m of Verge & Fence Line Maintained in January as Summer Growth Peaks

Cleaning, Greening & Maintenance

As January 2026 draws to a close, the Brickworks Management Association reflects on a productive start to the year. With consistent summer rainfall accelerating vegetation growth, the Idube landscaping and maintenance team focused on critical seasonal tasks to maintain the precinct’s clean and professional appearance.

500m of Verge & Fence Line Maintained

This month, the team completed over 500 metres of verge and fence line maintenance, prioritising areas where visibility and access are essential for both aesthetics and safety.

The fence line cutting process follows a two-stage approach:

  • Pre-treatment: A full walk of the fence line is conducted the week prior, during which herbicide is applied to remove creepers and invasive vegetation.

  • Follow-up: One week later, brush cutters are used to remove the dead growth, followed by manual clearing to ensure the fence lines remain neat, visible and accessible.

Garden Weeding & Island Maintenance

Precinct gardens, including circle islands, were weeded and pruned to keep growth under control. The appearance of these high-traffic areas remains a key focus during the summer months, especially as rains promote rapid plant development.

Final Embankment Cut for Financial Year Begins

The final embankment grass cutting for the financial year commenced this month. With rapid regrowth typical of the summer season, this work ensures slopes and boundary zones are properly managed to reduce overgrowth and maintain a consistent visual standard across the precinct.

Weekly Fire Tank Testing Completed

In support of overall safety, Satisfire conducted weekly functional tests on both precinct fire tanks throughout January. All systems were found to be in good working order, ensuring continued readiness in the event of a fire-related emergency.

These combined efforts reflect the Brickworks MA’s continued commitment to maintaining a high-quality environment for businesses operating in the precinct. As we head into February, focus will remain on summer vegetation control, site safety, and proactive service delivery.
