Precinct Momentum: Major Milestones Achieved in August at The Brickworks

Posted on 27/08/2025

August marked a significant chapter in the ongoing evolution of The Brickworks, with major development activity signaling continued investor confidence and growing demand for premium industrial and logistics space in the precinct.

Three More Site Handovers Finalised

A major milestone was reached this month as three of the precinct’s final four undeveloped sites were officially handed over to their new owners. By the beginning of September, only one site remains unsold and undeveloped, an impressive indicator of the strong market interest and long-term potential of The Brickworks.

This achievement speaks volumes about the attractiveness of the estate’s location, infrastructure, and management framework. With nearly all sites now accounted for, The Brickworks enters a new phase of activity, with more developments expected to take shape in the coming months.

Puresonic Set to Break Ground

Progress is also evident on the Puresonic site, where preparations for development are underway. A temporary fence and access gate have been installed, marking the initial groundwork in anticipation of imminent construction. The handover of the site to Puresonic, combined with the visible progress on-site, reflects the confidence of incoming businesses in the precinct’s long-term value and strategic position.

Wetland Rehabilitation Progress

Environmental rehabilitation efforts within the precinct are also moving ahead steadily. One key highlight is the ongoing construction of the dam wall as part of the wetland restoration programme. With this phase nearing completion, the next step will involve rerouting the river’s flow around the newly constructed wall.

Once diverted, the team will pour the concrete base to complete the centre of the dam—enhancing both ecological function and long-term flood resilience within the precinct.

As we approach the final quarter of the year, The Brickworks is poised for even more transformation. From physical construction to environmental stewardship, every element of the precinct’s development is aligning to reinforce its role as a leading logistics and commercial node within the Greater Durban region.
