February at The Brickworks has been a productive month for precinct maintenance, ensuring the estate remains well-maintained and operationally efficient.
Clearing for Visibility & Drainage Control
The Idube team maintained a steady pace throughout February, focusing on key seasonal tasks:
- Embankment grass cutting – completed across the precinct, ensuring high-visibility areas remain tidy.
- Weed control – spraying carried out across all hard surface areas to maintain a clean and professional environment.
- Stormwater drains – cleared and cleaned to keep inlets free of debris in anticipation of rain expected over the coming days.
These activities continue to safeguard the precinct’s appearance and functionality, particularly during the summer months when vegetation growth accelerates.
Proactive Traffic Calming Measures
In response to observations of high vehicle speeds within the precinct, new speed bumps were installed as a traffic-calming measure. These improvements enhance road safety for all members and visitors.
Wildlife Sightings
A juvenile Nile water monitor (Uxam) was observed climbing a fence within the precinct. Both this monitor and a large snake have been seen previously in the conservation area, particularly during hot and humid weather, highlighting the importance of awareness around natural habitats within the precinct.
